June 2005 the Council of Ministers approved the Decision
Nr. 435, date 23.06.2005 "Confirmation of list for
equipments that use dissolved Ozone forbidden to be
fabricated and imported and methods and procedures
followed in order to replace this element from
equipments in use". During February - March 2006
they approved by specific laws the amendments of
Copenhagen, Paris, London and Montreal, as part of
Montreal Protocol. Albania is implementing some projects
with the assistance of the implementing agencies like UNEP
and UNIDO aiming to complete the tasks of Montreal
Protocol.

The projects are as follow:

The goal of this workshop is the information of farmers
with problems of methyl bromes, to promote the existing
alternatives and to encourage the decision makers to develop
a national plan for the prevention of its reentrance to Albania.
The workshop is held and completed in Tirana as a result of
cooperation of UNIDO with Ministry of Environment, NOPIU,
Ministry of Agriculture and The Institute for Plant Protection.
The purpose of the project was the awareness to stop the use
of methyl bromes for soil treatment and the implementation of
alternated harm reduction techniques. On the framework of the
project is published the brochure "Alternative techniques to substitute
the methyl bromes against soil parasites.Is prepared a training manual for Custom Officers for control of the ozone depleting substances ( in CD )
NOPIU in cooperation with General Custom Directory prepared an Instruction "For Control of the Ozone Depleting Substances Imports - Exports" ( Instruction Nr 1 date 18.06.2007 )
